Covid-19 UpdateDear friends and guests of Samahita,

The current travel restrictions to Thailand, including quarantine, have been lifted for certain countries as of November 1st. As such, we are ready to reopen our clean, safe, open-air space to welcome you back to the perfect rejuvenation destination from December 1st, 2021!

Thank you for your continued support during this global pandemic. After almost two years of conserving, Samahita reopens, ready to welcome your return so we may support your health and wellness. Koh Samui is considered a target destination for people to travel safely to and Samahita Retreat has met all requirements to qualify as a SHA ++ resort meaning we have been inspected for cleanliness, covid protocols including vaccinations of our staff, and procedures to ensure the safety of our guests.

What are the steps for traveling to Koh Samui as Thailand reopens?

Please follow these guidelines to ensure a smooth journey to Samahita. During our soft opening period, please book your first night’s stay in Thailand in an AQ or SHA+ authorized hotel at your port of arrival. Then come and stay with us once you receive your negative test result.

What changes can I expect to see at Samahita?

We continue to operate with our high cleanliness standards and open air spaces, with some minor changes for your safety:

  • A hybrid of meal choices served to you along with self service buffet, to minimize touch points in the dining area
  • Room cleaning every three days for safety, privacy and sustainability. Fresh towels may be requested.
  • Covid safety protocols as per the Thai Ministry of Public Health

Is the Samahita team vaccinated?

Yes, all staff at Samahita are fully vaccinated and 70% of Koh Samui has been vaccinated.

What does soft reopening period from December 1 to January 31, 2022 mean?

We are opening initially with limited staff featuring our signature YogaCoreCycle program, and Christmas and New Year retreats, all at very special rates. Wellness add-ons available onsite. We also have a special month-long teacher training in January. From February 1 regular programming and rates will resume.

What happens if I test positive for Covid when I arrive in Thailand?

As you and all travelers to Thailand must be vaccinated and tested prior to flying, there is a slim chance that you will test positive after arriving (approximately .10% of arrivals).   Should this happen you will be required to go to a local hospital until you recover or test negative.  It is recommended that you have medical insurance that covers hospital stay even if you do not have symptoms.

Can I fly directly to Koh Samui?

Yes, but all travelers must enter Koh Samui with a direct international flight (arriving at Samui Int’l Airport from another country), OR with an international flight that enters Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Int’l Airport (Bangkok) and is connected to Koh Samui through Bangkok Airways sealed flights:  BKK-USM Flight No. PG5125 or PG 5171 or from Singapore SIN-USM Flight No. PG962.
