Irene Visser, Yoga Teacher Training, Samahita Resort, Thailand, August 2018

I participated in the Centered Yoga 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in August 2018 at the beautiful Samahita Retreat in Thailand. Samahita perfectly balanced all I was looking for in a YTT. Paul and the team teach a yoga that is scientific, structured but taught from the heart. The course offered me more than expected, I have truly deepened my practise and now have the tools, insights and confidence to teach. With four weeks of fulltime residential training – and fulltime at Samahita really is 12 hours a day! – I also experienced an internal transformation. I built a daily pranayama practice and dived deep into myself during the daily meditation and energy works. The depth and authenticity of the teachings and simply the hours put into practice allowed for the building of new habits that now, two months after completion of the course, are routines for me.

I took the course when I was at a crossroads in my life. I practiced yoga already for 15 years and had built a career in international development while raising three kids. I needed to reflect and define a new direction for my personal and professional life. I felt the serenity and structure offered by Samahita has really helped me at this stage of my life. I now feel empowered to succeed with my passion, to bridge the gap between the business and yoga worlds! I have founded my own business and developed a workshop format ‘Doing Business Like a Yogi’ that takes participants through a business strategy process while using yoga philosophy and simple yoga exercises. I certainly could not have done this without the solid foundation provided by Samahita!
