Guest Teacher Program
A 7-night retreat exploring a wide spectrum of yoga’s teachings as developed by Simon Low over 30+ years of yoga’s teaching, research and trainings. Dynamic morning yoga practices infused with principles of chi kung and Thomas Hanna inspired somatic education will be balanced by afternoons experiencing restorative yin yoga practices, both sessions underpinned by breathwork and meditation in movement and stillness.
Simon always shares philosophy, psychology with ancient and contemporary inspirational poetry and writings to enrich and support the teachings and practice, while additionally offering guidance supported by text and video for ongoing home practice after your retreat experience at Samahita.
Between classes there is plenty of time to enjoy the beaches, explore this beautiful southern region of Samui where Simon lived for 5 years and can suggest many places to visit, or simply rest and rejuvenate within Samahita’s dedicated Wellness Centre, retreat spaces, swimming pool, herbal steam room and facilities.
There is a wide range of en-suite accommodation options available to book in single, double and twin shared rooms with different price levels to meet all budgets and preferences. Twin-shared accommodations are some of the best presented in the retreat world, and single and double options vary from garden-view rooms to beachfront villas.
The catering at Samahita is healthy, wholesome and supportive to yoga practice, infused with the unique Thai flavours and ingredients. The Juice Bar offers healthy snacks, fresh coconuts, smoothies and juices, and specially selected tea and options options.
Simon Low, ‘an Englishman abroad’, has been teaching yoga for over 33 years after first discovering the personal benefits of yoga with his initial and inspirational teacher and trainer Larry Payne while Simon was living in Los Angeles after a career in the music industry in New York and London. Since that time Simon has explored, researched and practiced a wide range of yoga’s teachings and practices, along with chi kung, psychology, philosophy and somatic education, always continuing studies that deepen his interest and understanding of the human body and mind. Over these years Simon has immersed himself in the Course in Miracles, the Hoffman Process, the Diamond Approach and other therapeutic approaches to support his life journey and that of the students who come to join his international retreats and teacher trainings.
Simon now lives and teaches retreats and trainings year-round at Santillán Retreat in Andalucia, Spain. www.simonlow.com & www.santillanretreat.com
