Travel Requirements
RETURN TO THAILAND WITH EASY TRAVEL:
Starting December 1, 2024, travelers from 93 countries that previously enjoyed visa-free entry into Thailand will need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before embarking on their trip.
The application process is designed to be entirely digital, with travelers able to apply through Thailand’s official e-Visa website. Importantly, the ETA will be free of charge, maintaining Thailand’s visa-free travel policy for these 93 countries while adding an extra layer of security.
The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) allows travelers a single entry into Thailand and is valid for a period of 60 days from the date it is issued. This means visitors can stay in the country for up to two months under the initial approval, with the option of applying for a one-time extension, which grants an additional 30 days.
By implementing this system, Thailand aims to create a more streamlined and secure entry process for international visitors. One of the significant advantages for travelers is the use of automated immigration clearance gates, which will allow seamless movement through the use of QR codes, minimizing waiting times at points of entry.
